Just a joke
Gary
For those who know me, please do not read anything into this comic, it's a joke, just a joke. Unfortunately, I feel as though I have to make that very clear, because in high school, I got in trouble for some of the things I drew, which were, A.) requested by another teacher for me to draw, and B.) just a joke. This joke actually came as the culmination of a few conversations I had and a partial request by a friend to do a comic about this subject. One conversation was about how a sign or policy really wouldn't discourage anyone, if they had intentions to do bad things, so it was kind of funny. That said, I know why they have them, it's just funny. Another conversation was about the increased shooting rate in Chicago, and how a ban on guns, at this point, wouldn't change much. It would give prosecutors something to hold people on, but there are so many guns already in the city, it would take a long time before guns started becoming scarce. Guns being legal, however, does, I'm assuming, make it easier for someone to get an illegal gun, because, I would think, that illegal guns could more easily come into the city with standard shipments, than they would be able to if no guns were allowed into the city. That said, I'm not really an advocate either way. If someone wanted to stop guns being in the system, they would've had to enact the law in like 1903, when the UK did, so at this point, it's rather moot. People who want to do bad things are just going to get a gun that does what they want illegally, and with so many in society, no law is going to stop that in our generation. |
