Stink test
The one main reason I've been given by people not going to a big lan party, is fear of the stink. Well... it's not that bad, though, at digital overload, there was a smelliest attendee contest. The bright side is that 98% of the people attending showered everyday, and the 2%... well... just make certain you don't sit next to them, and try and make certain that your opponents do.
